Overview
This service upgrade introduces an enhanced notification report format for SystemGuardian for Oracle. The upgrade will take effect immediately and all subscribers will receive it at no charge.

Enhanced Notification Report
The new notification report format (sample) offers several advantages over the existing format that make it easier to navigate and more useful for database administrators:

New Organization - Problems and events are now organized by database. The problems and events in each database section are grouped first by type (new, cleared, etc.) and then by test. This new organization makes it easier to prioritize necessary action and to allocate time to more critical systems first.

Enhanced Summaries - The report summary is now organized by database, and includes links to each of the database sections as well as the problem type sections within them. Each database section contains problem and events summaries organized by type and test, with links to the start of each test section.

Improved Access to Background and Recommendations - The background and recommendations are now included with the appropriate test sections, instead of at the end of the report.

Customer Involvement
The introduction of these enhancements will not disrupt service in any way, nor will it require any action on the part of our subscribers. We will be sending reports in both the existing format and the new format through Thursday, October 5, 2000. We will begin sending only the new notification report on Friday, October 6.
