FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW DIVISION TO PROVIDE REMOTE ORACLE SUPPORT MONCTON, NB -- November 3, 1998 -- Skyridge Systems Inc. announced today the creation of SystemGuard, a new division that will focus on remote Oracle support. "In working with Oracle over the past few years we've seen that many Oracle users have a need for support that currently isn't being met," said Shelley Meredith, a member of the Skyridge Systems board of directors. "We created SystemGuard because we saw an opportunity to meet this need." All SystemGuard services will be provided remotely. "We expect to develop services in the areas of remote monitoring and database administration," said Meredith. SystemGuard plans to focus on support for production Oracle database environments. Providing Oracle support remotely will allow SystemGuard to deliver its services in a unique way. They will employ a team-based approach with a group of Oracle database administrators working closely together on all services. According to Meredith, this approach will give clients access to greater expertise than they could get by hiring individual contractors. SystemGuard expects to offer its first services beginning in 1999. Initially, the staff will be doing market research to identify services that will be valuable to Oracle users. Based on the market research, SystemGuard will decide what services to develop and how to deliver them. "We may need to develop tools, gather information, or conduct technical research," said Meredith. Skyridge Systems is a Moncton-based company that specializes in Oracle. Its services include data modeling, database administration for both production and development environments, and custom software development.
